Paper model (2016-2017)
Research was conducted on the city of Munich. If people of this city are asked to pick the building most representative of Munich, they will tell you about the Frauen Cathedral. A sculpture was built in the method used in the experiments on the relationship between humans and architecture. A very interesting fact was discovered during research. The shape of the two towers facing each other was impressive. Although attempts were made through architects to find the blueprints for the building to understand its structure, they were unfortunately not open to the public due to the symbolism and importance of the cathedral. The highest building in old sections of the city are its dome or the central cathedral, and it is forbidden by law to raise a building higher than it. The highest building in the old city district of Munich was the tower section of the Frauen cathedral. The height of the two towers differ by about one meter, but it isn’t noticeable to the eyes of the average person. The two towers are 110 and 109 meters tall. As the blueprints were unobtainable the following method was used. I bought a paper model of the building and drew it in reverse to identify its geometric structure.
